City of Bellingham (WA) Implements eCity

December 15, 2005

The City of Bellingham went live with their eCity implementation in late 2005. Since that time, the user group has maintained close partnership with Slingshot during early live usage of their eCity Request, Buy and Stock software modules.

The city stocks 86,000 parts and provides web based access for several hundred “requesitioners” to request the City’s resources – hence the need for Slingshot’s solutions to help them stay on top of the requisitioning, purchasing and warehouse management for their Public Works department.

Key areas of functionality include electronic approvals of all requisitions and purchase orders, user counter order receipt approvals utilizing Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), blanket and contract vendor management, e-mail notifications to requestors, vendors and other stake-holders, automated three-way invoice matching and integration with legacy city work order and financial management systems.
